What is included in a standard garden room?
Our standard costs include foundations and the complete build with Thermowood cladding, French doors and a single window, electrical connection and fittings, and interior finish including different laminate flooring options.
What size rooms can you build?
Our Garden Rooms are custom-built for each client, based on your requirements, your available space and budget.
How quickly can you build my room?
The duration of the project will depend on the size and style of the studio, and we will discuss timelines during the planning stage. Typically, it will take one week to install a standard sized garden pod on site, however, it can take as long as two weeks for larger projects and landscaping projects will take longer.
How much is it for a design consultation?
Our site visit and consequent design is free of charge.
Do I need planning permission?
In the majority of cases, you will not need planning permission to build a garden room on your property. Details of exceptions can be found here (Planning Permission)
Can I include extras in my room?
Yes, there is a wide range of options for your garden room. Have a look at the choices of doors, windows, cladding, and the additional items you can include such as decking, heating and WiFi Cat 5 cable (Optional Extras).
What preparation is needed before works begin?
We can install foundations on level or gently sloping ground. We will need to level sloping ground before starting the build and will advise you of this during the site visit. We can also remove existing buildings and garden waste before we start building.
Does timber cladding need treatment?
Our garden pods Sussex are clad in heat-treated Thermowood that is highly resistant to rot and decay without needing any treatment.
Will you connect my garden office to electric mains supply?
Our standard garden pod includes connection to your mains supply. The cost included in your quote is for a 10m armoured cable, and additional cable will be charged at £10/m. Our qualified electrician will also install lighting, a consumer unit, sockets and switches in the building.
Can you install water facilities in a garden room?
Yes, we will contract a plumber to connect water and waste for a kitchenette, cloakroom or shower.
What access do you require to the site area?
We generally need clear access to the site through a side or rear entrance. If this is not possible, we are able to bring materials through the house, and will lay a protective covering over the floor. We will advise you of this during our site visit.
Do you carry out installations anywhere in the UK?
We carry out installations in Sussex and surrounding areas.
Do you have a guarantee?
Our garden offices come with a 10 year guarantee against any structural defects.
What are your terms of payment?
The deposit for standard garden rooms is £1,000, upon receipt of which we will agree your start date. We will invoice you for the 40% instalment 5 weeks before the build, and 20% when we begin. A further 20% is invoiced when the studio structure is complete and the final 20% when the garden room is finished and you are happy with the project.
What if there are snags after the project has been completed?
